1953 Gibson Les Paul

In on consignment is a sweet lil 1953 Gibson Les Paul PAF conversion.

In the included paperwork Dan Shinn writes that this instrument was re-topped by Lay's (world famous guitar shop) in Akron, OH using stunning figured maple that came out of a 100 year old rubber factory in the area. If you're going to re-top a guitar that's the type of wood to use, without a doubt. Also included in the paperwork are photos and correspondence with Charlie Starr of Blackberry smoke who used this guitar to track during the sessions for the Marshall Tucker Band Tribute album. That's pretty cool and says a lot about the feel and tone of this instrument!

It has a perfect med neck (.87 - .96). A superb weight 8 lbs 4oz and boasts a killer set of PAT# pickups which read 7.6 N & 7.8 B respectfully. It was shot in correct nitro which glows under blacklight. It displays excellent checking and light wear overall. The tailpiece and the knobs are 60's, bonus! The rest of the parts are quality aged repro and they fit the look of the guitar perfectly. The frets are newer and in excellent condition, this guitar flat out SMOKES!

This is a whole lotta guitar for the money folks. It looks the part, sounds insane and has some killer documentation! A sweet 70's Gibson case ties this whole package together nicely.
