1956-7 Gibson Les Paul
BMVG is proud to offer an exquisite instrument.
This Les Paul started out as an unbroken 1956 Gibson Standard (p90's).
Years, and I mean YEARS ago a gentlemen commissioned Dave Johnson to expertly convert the guitar he loved so very much into a PAF loaded, dark back with an authentic 1957 serial number; as that was his grail.
The results are true perfection.
It's no secret that we love conversions, I mean we love all things vintage Gibson and as the proud owners of several 58-60 Bursts we have the guitars on hand to make apple to apple comparisons.
This 56-57 more than competes, she's a monster guitar and a hell of a lot of guitar for the money, no doubt.
Most of the parts i.e. plastics, wiring, switches, screws, washers, bridge, tailpiece etc are original to the guitar.
The PAF's read a stinging 8.42 B and a clear and articulate 7.86 in the N, a wonderful sealed set with perfect stickers and zero modifications.
The neck is a perfectly full .89 - .99 with modest shoulders, exactly as one would expect from 56-57 Les Paul. It fills the hand and gives the guitar a smooth mid forward sound. She weighs in just over 9 lbs. which suites this guitar perfectly.
We have photographed this one with an excellent 5 latch Lifton "Cali Girl" case, which I dig and fits the guitar nice and snug.
We have 4 latch cases, 5 latch, Cali girls, flight cases, open to sending her off with whatever the new owner prefers!
